How Skillteq works

Getting a job done

1. Tell us what you need

   Choose a service, describe the problem in your own words and add photos so pros can see what they're quoting on.

2. Say when and where

   Pick how urgent it is (now, today, this week or whenever suits you), then use a saved address or drop a pin on the map.

3. Set a budget, or ask for quotes

   Give a budget range if you have one, or leave it open and let pros quote.

4. Nearby pros are notified

   Your request goes straight to pros who offer that service and cover your area. You can see which of them are online right now.

5. Compare quotes side by side

   Each quote splits out the call-out fee, the service cost and materials. You see every pro's rating, reviews and distance next to their price.

6. Book and pay in the app

   Choose a quote and pay with card, bank or EFT. Before you pay, the app shows the quote, the Skillteq booking fee and your total.

7. Stay in touch while the work happens

   Chat with your pro in the app with photos, voice notes and location sharing, and follow the job's progress.

8. Confirm, then rate each other

   When you confirm the job is done, Skillteq releases the payment to your pro. You both leave a rating, which helps the next customer and the next pro.

When you pay, and what happens to the money

You pay when you book. Skillteq holds the payment rather than passing it straight to the pro, so neither side has to take the other's word for it. The pro can see the money is there before they start.

The payment is released to the pro when you confirm the job is done. If a pro marks a job complete and you don't respond within 48 hours, the payment is released automatically, so check the work and raise anything that's wrong promptly.

If something goes wrong

Open the job in the app and use Report a problem. You can choose what went wrong, such as a pro who didn't arrive, poor workmanship or a disagreement about the final cost, and our support team will follow up. You can also WhatsApp us. See trust and safety for more.

One account, two roles

Many tradespeople also hire other trades. With Skillteq you can be a customer and a provider on the same account and switch between them in the app without logging out.
